Job description

For our team in Prague, Czech Republic we are looking for a junior quality assurance engineer to work on Visual Builder Studio (VBS). VBS is an established cloud service offering from Oracle for rapid development of web applications directly in a web browser. Your role would be to manually test newly added features, update corresponding test specifications, develop automated tests and maintain the existing ones. Regular evaluation of test results, manual inspection of failures and escalation of regressions would also be part of your responsibilities during quarterly release certifications. You would be closely communicating with other developers (some of them located in Prague, some in USA or United Kingdom) to identify source of problems and to help with their resolution.

Responsibilities

• manually test newly implemented features, report and verify discovered defects

• write automated tests for fast discovery of regressions in functionality, performance and backward compatibility of various areas of Visual Builder Studio designer

  
  

• evaluate test results, analyze failures, fix or escalate identified problems

• keep both test specifications and corresponding automated tests up-to-date and reliable to be used in both development and production environments

Required Knowledge and Skills

• good programming skills in TypeScript or JavaScript language

• good knowledge of Selenium WebDriver library

• knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, XML and XPath languages

• good communication in English (both written and spoken)

Preferred Knowledge and Skills

• experience with development of web applications and their testing

• knowledge of web frameworks and related tools (JET, Node, Grunt, Maven)

• ability to learn new technologies and apply these in practice

• experience with Agile development practices and tools (Scrum, Jira)

• team player with detail oriented mindset and focus on software quality

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will apply basic to intermediate knowledge of software architecture to perform software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications or operating systems according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and occasionally suggest improvements to the architecture.

Duties and tasks are standard with some variation; displays understanding of roles, processes and procedures. Performs moderately complex problem solving with assistance and guidance in understanding and applying company policies and processes. BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 1 year of software engineering or related experience.
